Filming in general

Now that we have finished filming all our scenes we know that to make a film all of your ideas need to be 100% as they won't always turn out the way you think they will and we found that out the hard way!

Especially because we had such expensive equipment we had to make sure that when we were filming it was good weather, a good location and we knew how to use the camera properly and we did the right things so that the quality of our opening wasn't too light or too dark but also the quality had to be at a high standard.

Seeing as none of us are actors, we did try hard to make it seem as real as possible without over doing it.

The last day of filming was by far the easiest because we knew exactly what we wanted to do and how we were going to do it!

Once we edit it we should have a really good opening that shows how hard and how well we worked as a team.

Cinema to watch 'Unknown'

I recently went to the cinema to watch 'Unknown'  the trailer looked so sick so i thought i should go and after all it was a THRILLER. Anyways it stars one of my favourite actors Liam Neeson who you would probably recognise from 'Taken' or 'Love Actually'. He is such a awsume actor, the film was bascially about  the reality facing Dr Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) in the action thriller Unknown. After a car accident in Berlin, Martin lapses into a coma. On awakening, he finds himself alone, exhausted and on the run from mysterious assassins. His wife doesn't believe what he says, and the authorities are backing the man who claims to be him. His only ally is a secretive woman (Diane Kruger), who warns him to trust no one. As Harris is pulled further into the deadly mystery, he is forced to question his own sanity, and to wonder just how far he will go to uncover the truth. It's very'heart racing' and so much suspense is bulit at times. Especially at the scence of the 'car chace' which had me at the tip of my seat. Must see movie!!!!!!

Filming Finished =)

We finally finished filming our Thirller opening on Thursday 10th March. It was a very productive session and the wether was actually quite lovely to film outside. We were so relieved that we had completed all of the shots as the deadline was coming close. We now have 2 weeks to edit out thriller opening, were sure that it's going to turn out really good.

Filming - flashback scenes

After looking at the scenes we already did we decided to change some of our ideas in order to make our opening look better.

We took away our email scene as it didn't really flow as well as we had had hoped but we kept the concept of going to sleep and having a nightmare.

The shots of the london eye itself was a nice once so we decided to keep it but as for the other ones we are not sure as to if they will flow with the rest of our flashback scenes.

We wanted to make it look as if Rellik, our killer, had his own killing spot, which was a park that he took all his victims to. This is were the majority of the flashback scenes are.

We didn't want it to look like it was all the same place in the park so we had a variety of different shots to use:

In a tree
On a bench
Walking into the park etc.

We also made another video blog that will be up soon.

Brainstorm for new ideas for our Thriller

We as a group had finished filming our thriller scenes for our film. Looking back on our footage when we reached the editing process we felt that we could improve our film if we changed a few ideas slightly. However, we still wanted to keep the ideal story line of a serial killer who constantly goes after female victims. We decided to change the whole opening scene to 'Rellik' nightmare, they will consist of flashbacks of all the previous things he has done to women. They will appear in black and white alongside negative effects. Quick with lots of fades, dissolves and fast pace change of shots. We believe it will look so much better and still keep that element of thriller and suspense. The ending will be a cliffhanger where Rellik awakes from his sleep really disorientated and confused.

BRAINSTORM FOR FLASHBACKS

  • Close up of eyes flickering
  • Camera moving up the covers and close up of face
  • Face sweating
  • Flashback of the victims
  • Park scenes
  • Negative/ Black and white (for the dream)
  • Colour (for reality when 'Rellik' awakes)
  • 'The Cycle' will appear on the opening shot
  • Flowers Dead
  • Blood
  • Tilted shots to show state of mind
  • Arms
  • Head tosing and turning
  • Pale skin and bruises on female victims
